Cheap container for ice bath?
Main Post:
I don’t have access to a bath and was wondering what kind of containers could be used, preferably sub $30 or so. I was thinking of getting one of the blow up kiddie pools or the plastic kids pools, had anyone used anything similar?
Top Comment: So I used an inflatable bath I got for $40 off of amazon for about six months before it developed a huge tear and was useless. I also tried a kiddie pool, but it had the same issue almost immediately (less than 1 month) and I didn't fit into it very well. This is my current solution: https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/rubbermaid-structural-foam-stock-tanks-100-gal-capacity It works great and I got it for $80 at my local farm supply. It's very heavy-duty but obviously you need access to a yard/outdoor space. I'm over 6ft and I fit in it up to my neck comfortably with my legs folded. They also make a 150 gal version if you're bigger than me or like to stretch out. I'd recommend going to see one in person if you have size/fit concerns. I'd highly recommend spending a little more for a durable solution after my experience.
Cheap Ice bath ideas?
Main Post:
I live in AZ, and it is far too hot to get the ideal temperature of a "cold shower". Does anyone have any tips regarding ice baths and how to have cheap ones daily??
Top Comment:
Chest freezer is the correct answer. Seal it, fill it up and then run it for a couple of hours a day. Then sit in it and enjoy!
Cheap ice feels like a secret

Not sure why this is not well know. A lot of fast food places sell ice for cheaper than gas station or grocery stores. Just wanted to put it out there because it has help me.
Here is a link I found about what places offer bagged ice. https://www.thedailymeal.com/1350382/mcdonalds-convenient-bagged-ice/

Top Comment: Arizona resident chiming in. We have "watersheds" all the place here. Kiosks that sell ice and water. Just checked tonight. 20# bag for $1.50. Not bad.
Cheap bagged ice
Main Post:
I briefly had to live in a small furnished apartment for a few months several years ago. Unfortunately it didn't have a full size fridge, just one of those mini dorm fridges with almost no freezer space. It couldn't keep up, so I found myself having to regularly buy bags of ice to store in it.
I had never noticed this before, but Steak and Shake will actually sell you large bags of ice for only 99 cents - at least the one near me does. I also noticed one of my local Burger King's is also selling bags of ice as well but I didn't check on their price for it.
Easy way to save a few bucks if you need some bags of ice for something like a party or gathering.
Top Comment: Sonic sells their ice here, it's the best ice for summer drinks.

Anyone know the most cost effective place to get ice?

Like many things, I have noticed that getting ice is now going up in price. Anyone have any good spots in central Phoenix for ice?

Where can I buy a LOT of ice for cheap around South Austin
Main Post:
I am looking to buy a shit ton of ice (frozen H20) in south Austin. As much as $40-50 max can buy. It is a bit expensive at the grocery stores that I frequent for my purposes. Does anybody know where I can reliably get a good deal around south Austin?
Top Comment: The frozen H2O clarification made me LOL

There is an ice vending machine on the SE corner of Alma and Parker. Use it all the time.
Want cheap ice (other than what you can make from tap water)? Go to Arby's
Main Post:
For whatever reason you can get a 10 Lb bag of ice (small cubes) for $1.29 at Arby's. Just ask for it at the drive through. It's a little cheaper than the normal 5 lb bags that you pick up at the store. Quality is excellent (no weird taste - I think it's made by a 3rd party)
Anyway I hope this hasn't been posted before.

Sonic sales their ice in the bags as well. But we have penguin ice here and you can buy it by 20lb bag or 24lb unbagged dumped right in the ice chest
